A Western Cape business outsourcing company has been recognised for a national award following its success in recovering debt linked to home loans.

Sigma Connected, which offers customer contact centre services in the financial services, telecommunications, retail, insurance, government and logistics industries, has been named runner-up in the Shortfall Recoveries – External Debt Collections category, at this year’s Nedbank Commercial Recoveries Awards.

The awards, held by a leading South African bank, aims to recognise a range of businesses for their work to support the country’s home loan sector – with Sigma widely praised for its collections performance and its customer support in helping homeowners to manage mortgage payment shortfalls.

Candice Oliver, external debt collections director at Sigma Connected said: “We are extremely proud to be recognised by Nedbank and the judging panel for the work we are doing and achievements we have made.

“We have been working with Nedbank for 14 years and during that time we have formed a trusted and unique partnership which is different to many in the external debt collection sector. We live, sleep and eat the brand and always look to find innovative ways to not only recover the debt, but to also help rehabilitate customers who are experiencing difficulties.

“We never become complacent, so this is vital recognition for the team’s expertise and dedication.”

The recognition for Sigma is the latest in a long list of awards the company has received in the past 12 months – which included multiple wins at this year’s prestigious Cape BPO Awards.

Sigma’s debt collection arm is operated from its offices in Mitchells Plain, Western Cape. This year the company has taken on hundreds of local people in a drive to create jobs and give opportunities across the community.
